DNS Modifications
In order to have your site hosted at WebHost, you
must modify your DNS to point to our server.
DNS modifications or domain name transfers from other
web hosts are usually completed within 1-2 days and can
result in as little as a few minutes of downtime. In order
for your domain name to point to your new server at WebHost,
you must notify your domain registrar that your domain
name needs to be pointed to the WebHost name servers
listed below.
If you are unsure of who is your domain registrar, you
may go to www.nsiregistry.com
and use the 'Search WHOIS' function. Simply enter your
domain name and the 'WHOIS' output will display your domain
registrar.
Once you place an order with us, we will send you your
new IP address, username, and password to upload your
site. Upload your site using your IP address, and once
the domain transfer is complete (1-2 days) your domain
will point to your new IP address, and your old IP address
with your old host will be inactive. This is when you
should cancel your account with your old host, thereby
reducing the amount of downtime for your web site.
ATTENTION: You should find our DNS information in our
welcome email
While we have provided this information to ease your
DNS transition to our name servers, WebHost is not
responsible for the content listed in these steps, as
we are not the authoritative source of this information.
If you have further questions with this process you will
need to contact the respective domain registrar.
